The proprietor, David, hails from the Fond du Lac area. Presently David resides in the fond du Lac area alongside his wife, two children, and their beloved dog.
Selfless service
David actively contributes to his local community. He participates in volunteer work, serving on boards, and donating to different events/causes. In the past, he embarked on mission trips across the country. After high school, he enlisted in the Army, serving as a paralegal.
Post-military service
While employed at a nearby county veteran service office, he pursued an associate’s degree in business management. Concurrently, he also completed a bachelor’s degree in human resource management at Marian University.
David began his career at the Department of Veteran Affairs. There, he gained insights into veteran benefits. He worked as an accounting auditor. He also collaborated directly with the Office of Inspector General to review the audit of financial cases reported to them. While fielding many calls at the Veteran Affairs, he noticed a recurring need among veterans and their family members. They consistently required advocacy and guidance to access the support and benefits they deserved. They also needed advice on monthly budgeting to stay on budget each month.
After his tenure at the Veteran Affairs Office, David transitioned to Social Security. In this new role, he delved into the intricacies of social security benefits processing. David found fulfillment by dedicating time to engage with the public. He used a personalized approach to achieve the best possible outcomes for their unique needs. He was consistently receiving streams of compliments. These compliments were notable compared to the experiences others recounted. Their interactions often lacked patience and being personable.
Frustrated by the absence of adequate guidance and advocacy for the community, David was motivated to take action. David’s wish to provide better guidance was strong. He wanted to advocate more effectively. This wish played a pivotal role in the start of Commerce Advocates LLC in early September 2023.
